I decided that since we couldn’t figure out what the trouble was, we should just go ahead and all our local HVAC company to come and check it out for us
This week, the weather started cooling down and we got really cold inside our house. Even though I like to wait until the last minute to turn my heating on in the winter, I decided to go ahead and turn up the thermostat because all of my kids kept telling me that they were cold all the time. I did tell the to put on sweaters and slippers, because I know how high our heating bills have been the past couple of years. But I guess it was inevitable that we had to turn our oil furnace on, so I did it. When I turned the furnace on, I heard a weird clicking sound through the air vents in the hallway. The clicking sound did not sound right to me, and so I sent my husband down to the furnace room in the basement to see if he could figure out if there was an issue with our oil furnace. Of course, everything looked fine to him, but he’s not exactly an HVAC professional. He actually isn’t very handy at all, and so I wasn’t surprised that he couldn’t figure out our furnace issues. Anyway, after the clicking started, then there was a pretty weird smell that started wafting through the house and the heating ducts. I decided that since we couldn’t figure out what the trouble was, we should just go ahead and all our local HVAC company to come and check it out for us. I didn’t really want to mess around with the furnace situation, and not knowing what the problem was made me very nervous.
