Being a technological genius for my mother

If you are anywhere near my age, then I guarantee you outside of your usual 9-to-5 job you also act as an IT corporation.

You undoubtedly perform this function for your family, whether you want to or not.

If you were not aware of this fact yet, then I am quite sure you have not been spending enough time at home with your parents. In my family, it’s clear that anybody under the age of 55 years is a technological genius. My entire family has no clue what they are doing when it comes to utilizing cell phones, gadgets, or anything new and modern in general. They are consistently complaining about technology, current living and digital communications. My mom is possibly the worst of them all! She is convinced that she is a high-tech, current woman, but in reality she only gets confused and riled up when she tries to use anything modern. This is why I have to be an expert on all of her gadgets. Recently, I devoted various months of my life to researching current cooling systems for my mom. I knew for quite a while that she required a current a/c proposal in her home, because the air felt severely muggy and horrible when I visited. My family knew this too, but were avoiding the subject. She would absolutely need help arranging the heating and cooling appointment, selecting her own cooling system and figuring out how to genuinely utilize the A/C proposal after it was installed. After that, she still was going to need help learning how to operate the thermostat, but unfortunately, it was clear that whoever got stuck assisting with the central a/c replacement was going to be helping her for a good part of the future. That’s why, I insisted that she purchased a smart thermostat for her system. Now, when she cannot figure out how to use it, I can change her temperature settings to whatever she likes even when I’m not around.
