A lengthy answer to an HVAC question in class

For some reason, I have not always had the best luck with my teachers.

  • I don’t know what it is but they always give me a hard time for the most part.

When these teachers call upon me to answer various questions, I commonly am able to answer without any hesitation. It was crazy the other day when surprisingly, my math teacher was asking if I knew what was the most important thing when it came to HVAC system maintenance. I explained that it was most important to keep the air filter changed because the HVAC system had to always have proper air flow or there would be complications. I mentioned how in the winter, your furnace could overheat without the proper air flow. Because there are a bunch of safety measures however, your HVAC system will typically shut off if there is any sort of issue. A common issue is when you have a dirty air filter, your furnace will actually shut off because of a lack of airflow. If that air flow is lacking, the inner workings of the HVAC could overheat like the heat exchanger. You definitely don’t want your heat exchanger to overheat because a crack in this could cause your family to be at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. My teacher had to actually stop me before I went any further explaining about what is important when it comes to your HVAC system. When it comes to topics like this, I tend to carry on and I believe I was starting to aggravate the teacher a little because of my long answer to his question.
